[day 1 - December daily book project; click to enlarge]
We spent the first day of December in the car from noon until dark, traveling from a snowy western New York back to the slightly warmer (snow-free) mid-atlantic area. It really felt as though we were literally driving from one holiday into the next. The kids were incredibly well-behaved in the car; not a single complaint over the 7.5 hour drive.
I decided the seasonal coffee cup we picked up at Tim Hortons was so festive that it needed to become a page in my book. Isn't that the sweetest graphic? We don't have TH in these parts so those yummy car treats seemed even more exciting to our gang.
This year, in part because of the snow (and all the family) Thanksgiving truly felt like the official launch of the holiday season. I loved this holiday; all of the family ... none of the overly stimulating distractions of too many packages and presents. And we had new snow. EVERY DAY. It was perfect.
I'm keeping my December daily project pretty simple with a lot of white cardstock throughout and even did a kind of "lift" of Ali's cover, modified to fit the American Crafts 6x6 album purchased just for this. It's the photos and documentation within its pages that will make our album unique.
It's good to be home. Much to do today including hanging our Advent calendar.
