We're having a very gray rainy weekend here. Good weather to stay inside and make things.
I've had Martha's snowflake hurricanes bookmarked as something I'd like to try for a while now, and last week when I saw Stefani's jelly jar jack O'lanterns, I decided not to wait for the winter holidays. Such a great way to use my threading water punch, and three other sized hole punches to create a variety of patterns. I used two shades of orange and craft cardstock. Just staple the overlap, add a ribbon here, a bit of twine there, a couple of acorns and you have a nice result in a very short time. Instant autumnal gratification.
If you put a bit of water in the bottom of the jar it helps remove the melty wax later. It's so nice to have a little glow in the window before the pumpkins go out next week.
