A little Darth Vader showed up at the door early; his Mother hoping to avoid the later rain, but I had not yet returned from my last minute candy-purchasing errand. Our Halloween was as nice of one as I can ever remember. I made a big batch of applesauce, and shuttled snacks and lunch up and down the driveway for the kids who played outside all day, running through the leaves. They tired themselves out so much that trick or treating lasted no more than an hour, returning home with jack-o-lantern buckets not even half full. The perfect amount for gobbling up on Sunday, with just a piece or two leftover for lunch boxes this week. I do love when holidays fall on a weekend this way.
