I thought a garden image should be included. The resource of our time in the garden is worthy of the definition 'made', don't you think? Not nearly enough sewing to make me happy, but I've definitely broken the ice with my machine and I'm ready for much more in the year ahead. For a long time now I've loved the idea of making a 'crafty to do list' as I've admired on make something. I think the time for mapping out those declarations has come.
I've been having the hardest time getting my focus back to completing my December Daily, and the summer book that so many of you want to see, but need to attend to those. At this point I want to clear them away from the corners of my mind. I'm looking at two small Kolo Albums on my desk, for which I have plans, and also purchased a lovely over-sized red linen album to contain our 'Christmas past' photos. Comparing the quality of pictures I used to take (or lack thereof to be precise) with those from the last three years it's plain to see the influence that flickr and blogging has had in the way I capture moments. I should do a post contrasting them. I owe a big debt of gratitude to this community.
It's not a popularity contest, but sometimes when we see our own mosaic along side others' in the flickr pool it can be ... intimidating. However, it's important to remember we're all working toward the same thing: bringing the longings of our hearts into some physical form. Isn't this why we create?
