Yes, you read that right: 'December' in March.
For anyone who's new to my blog I should preface this post with the information that back in December I took on a daily photo/documenting project, which I have finally finished organizing this week.
Although months have passed, it really did come together fairly quickly once I got down to business. With the paper goods packed away in a post-holiday clean-up/pare down it took more than a little effort to unearth the project, but I wanted to get it done before Easter at least.
It would be a very lengthy post if I were to include everything at once, so today I'm sharing the book-in-a-book devised for my Christmas day layout. Then I'll come back to the pages in sequence tomorrow.
In the world of magazines we called those annoying perforated tear-out cards a 'tip-in.' That sparked the concept for a little insert, which is tied-in with the baker's twine.

It contains my favorite photo of each of the kids with their new things on Christmas morning. The 4" square is covered in book-cloth, edge-stitched and dressed with white rub-ons from We Are Memory Keepers. Sorry to say I don't remember who makes the typewriter alphabet brads.
When I announced the project was finished Marty exclaimed "For me?" Yes. For you and the girls.
He took his good time turning through the pages this afternoon; feeling the wire twists and flocked brads, and remarking on pictures of himself. Whether they're four or thirty four this is why I make these books. It does my heart good to see them enjoy it so.
