And what a day it was! I made monogrammed cookies for my valentines, and had a lunch date at one of our consistent favorites in DC, The Old Ebbitt. We don't go often, but try to get there every couple of years. The old Washington establishement /boys club atmosphere makes us feel like tourists, but the food and service is predictably good. It's probably our last visit there before the move; another check off my mental list of things to do in DC over the next couple of months.
The kids came homef from school all sugared up, and I served them a dinner of cheesy eggs and bacon, with their jumbo cookies as desert. Early bedtime for them after a read-aloud from James and the Giant Peach.
