Obviously the easiest way to round out keepsakes is to just add some photos. After cropping some of Marty's preschool paintings to fit the sleeves I tucked photos of graduation into page protector stitched to size.
And here's the back side where he's enthusiastically showing me his end of school art collection. (The sheild is cropped to the right.) Ali Edwards for Designer Digitals memory lifelines, plus my brief words add information.
Above I slipped a loose photo enlargement into the sleeve over Joan's picture about her field trip. It's not adhered; just loose so she can pull it out if she wants to someday. I made sure to add her friend's names in the caption. She had already told the story herself (on the back side of this page in her own hand.) It didn't need much narrative from me.
I've read inquiries about how to involve kids in your scrapbooking and it seems logical to just build around a story they've already begun.
Remember my goal for this was to quickly organize and store away things that I want to keep. I assembled all of this in just a little time here and there this week.
Tomorrow I'll share more of a traditional layout using my daughter's writing sample as the jumping off point.
